I buy the gigantic family packs of it then portion it into 1-pound sections, wrap them with aluminum foil then toss them in the freezer. It’s way cheaper to buy it this way and the foil helps it last a little longer in the freezer than the clear plastic wrap the store wraps it in.

I used to do the same thing with ground beef when I had a family at home. But I still like to have some in the freezer because it is so easy to fix and personally I like the flavor, especially on the grill.
